Pawsture

OUR TEAM

Our team is made up of animal welfare advocates: people in the arena every day, fighting for animals, cultivating hope, and doing the necessary work to build the future they believe in. Pawsture is the platform where they help ensure animals are seen, heard, and defended.

Martha Herrera-Subido

Founder & Editor-at-Large
Martha is the founder of Pawsture, and the co-founder and lead caregiver of Kapon Ampon (IG: @kapon.ampon), a grassroots effort that practices TNVR, does daily feeding of community animals, and fosters vulnerable cats. A seasoned marketing and communications strategist, she’s spent years mastering the language of brands. Now, she uses that same fluency to make people care about puspins and aspins. She believes the smallest lives deserve the loudest voices, and she’s made it her business to make sure they’re heard.

Enrico Miguel Subido

Editor
Enrico Subido is a multi-gold medalist of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature. He began his career as a columnist for The Philippine Star before serving as Associate Editor of Expat Magazine and, later, Features Editor of Men’s Health PH. Apart from editorial duties, Subido maintained bylines in Top Gear Philippines, FHM Philippines, Esquire PH, and Rogue Magazine, and did scriptwriting for automotive TV shows like Motoring Today and Auto Focus. Following his stint in media and publishing Subido transitioned to digital native advertising for Summit Media. Currently, he is a corporate marketing and PR practitioner.

In 2020, alongside his wife Martha, Subido co-founded Kapon Ampon: a community initiative focused on TNVR, daily feeding, and fostering. He writes in Pawsture as an expression of his love for all animals.

Chiara De Castro

Editor
Chiara is a former magazine editor, now a full-time puspin advocate. She was managing editor of GRID, editor-in-chief of BDO’s Managing Wealth Magazine, and editorial director at adobo magazine. Today, she runs Baby Cat Brigade, a foster home for orphaned kittens just outside Metro Manila. When she’s not at her day job or cleaning litter boxes, she’s likely feeding a community cat or convincing someone to join the kapon club. She is a passionate supporter of #AdoptDontShop, the abolition of for-profit breeding, and the protection of outdoor animals and their caregivers.

Nina Unlay

Editor
Nina is a writer, journalist, and magazine editor with over 10 years of editorial experience, published in titles like Mongabay, Business Insider, National Geographic, Esquire, and others. Her beats are travel, culture, and sustainability. She was formerly the editor-in-chief of GRID and editorial director of adobo magazine. Currently, she is the co-founder and editorial director of Sustina, a women-led startup that aims to democratize sustainability news and intelligence. You might know her on Instagram as @chowdercatclub, where she posts about her resident and foster cats. At the moment, she has four: Ishi, Chowder, Baster, and Smee.

Ana Gonzales

Writer
Ana Gonzales writes across genres—alert, curious, and unafraid to linger at the edge of both the ordinary and the unsettling. Her work spans food, parenting, and pop culture, with a consistent eye for nuance, tension, and humor. She previously wrote for Smart Parenting, where she also served as a social media editor and community moderator. She was also a social media strategist at If&When, and produced SEO and animal-welfare content for U.S.-based rescue platform Doobert. Off the page, she feeds community cats in her hometown and spends time with her six cats—Maki, Miso, Nacho, Tita, Vic, and Joey—and her dog, Taco. She believes good storytelling asks readers to look longer.
